Historical Itineraries

These itineraries will follow a guided way to discover places and could tell tourists about meaningful legs of the local culture and traditions or educational proposal connected to programs and guided visits in places of historical memory ". Departing from Vatolla (Perdifumo) a visit to the beautiful Church of St.Maria of the Grazie ( XI century), the small but interesting Farmer Civilization Museum, the Vichiano Museum, the Vargas Palace and the Convent of St.Maria of the Pietà. From Perdifumo it is possible to start a walk that leads, in around five kilometres, to the inhabited area of Montecorice, near the sea. Continuing and admiring the wonderful view of the coast (from north to south: Agnone, Acciaroli, Pioppi, etc., famous places for sea traditions, suggestive processions, Mediterranean diet, and also for incontaminate beaches), with its beautiful Norman-Aragonese Towers (Norman Tower, Arena Tower, Caleo Tower, Punta Tower) we arrive to the Chapel of Madonna of the Grazie and near the windmill, in Montecorice, where it is possible to visit the Farmer Civilization Museum of Ortodonico, the theatre, the Marchesale Palace and so many other small churches, among which that of St.Salvatore of Socia. Continuing along the coast we reach Pollica, dominated by Capano Castle, with its medieval Tower, deserving of visit also Vinciprova Palace, centre of the Alive Museum of the sea, Mazziotti Palace, Amoresano Palace and Galdi Palace. The coastal line of our itinerary ends in Casal Velino, where it is possible to visit the Farmer Civilization Museum and several churches.

Itineraries Nature

A guided way in the beauty of nature or to the environmental and rural excursions. During spring-summer- autumn it is possible to make excursions to pic-nic areas of Mediterranean scrub, to forest to discover the local flora and fauna and to take walks along coastal beaches for a pleasant and refreshing pause with a plunge in Acciaroli's European blue flag crystalline waters. From Perdifumo guided excursions to Saint Sofia's wood, Punta Carpinina and to Perdifumo's Mountain, to Montecorice in locality Ripe Rosse and along Arena river,passing through Pollica and to take walks along ancient Gliastrulo path. Free or guided way through ancient paths and suburbs: Acciaroli- Pollica-Casal Velino, Pioppi-Celso-Cellara, Pollica-Celso- Galdo-Montestella and Celso-Galdo-S.Mauro; ending in Casal Velino with suggestive walks (also with mountainbike) or rides to Casal Velino-Acciaroli, Celso, Pioppi, Pollica, Acquavella.

Oeno-Gastronomic Itineraris

Important events, for the promotion of Mediterranean-diet, typical products and connected activities, are : departing from Perdifumo, Mountain feast (1st and 2nd week of August), tasting of all typical products (hand made pasta, typical wines, cakes, meats and local cheeses) animation with customs and typical songs; unrolling of roast pig and tripe festivals; arriving in Montecorice with the gastronomic festival in the month of August with tasting of all typical products: hand made pasta, fish and typical products, wines, cakes, animation with customs and typical songs; Passing through Pollica with pesce azzurro festival in Pioppi hamlet during the first week end of September with entertainment, music and handicraft exhibition; ending in Casal Velino with the event "Between sea and country", with tasting of the typical products based on fish, wines, oils and local cheeses,as well as entertainmet activities, like fishing and cuisine courses.

Religious Itineraries

Itineraries that could take place during Easter or some religious festivities. Our itinerary winds from south to north. Departing from Casal Velino a visit to Churches of Assunta, Madonna of the Grazie, and of St.Matteo; during The Holy Friday the Via Crucis procession: Christ's passion commemoration, with custumed figurants. Continuing to Pollica, the center appears dominated by the Church of St.Nicola (XVII sec.) and Franciscan Convent, interesting the Churches of St.Maria of the Grazie and of St.Pietro, this last desecrated. There are several churches on the town territory, all accessible to visitors and whom represent a meaningful historical- cultural testimony: the Church of Annunziata in Acciaroli and Celso, the Church of Carmine in Pioppi, the Church of St.Rocco in Galdo, the Church of St.Martino and the Chapels of St.Rocco and Madonna of the Soccorso in Cannicchio.
Passing through Montecorice, also in this town there are several and interesting Churches: St.Angelo; St.Biagio, (dated back to the XVI century), that presents frescos of the XIX century, work of local handicraftsmen; St.Salvatore of Socia Church and the Chapel of Madonna of the Grazie. Continuing toward north we reach Perdifumo, where it is possible to visit the Convent of St.Maria of the Pietà, founded in 1619 by Franciscan friars, inside we find some frescos and an ancient library, that preserves precious texts of XVI century; the Church of St.Maria of the Grazie and the Convent of St.Arcangelo, that hold great importance for the development of Cilento's hills. The Convent of St.Arcangelo, dated back surely before to the XI century, got a great importance for the territory thanks to Benedictine friars. The same itinerary can be repeated in summer time during some religious festivities.
